Community group makes a splash in the news in efforts to protect local waters

A COMMUNITY group’s battle to protect its waters from the threat of a mega fish farm caused a stir in the national media thanks to our PR experts.
We worked with the community group Long Live Loch Linnhe to create a media campaign to stop a mega fish farm with huge environmental consequences in a fragile ecosystem.
Our award-winning team got to work initially drafting a release to highlight the community’s work as well as issuing a follow-up release calling for government action to stop the farm which would hold a total live weight equivalent to 11,000 cows.
Throughout the campaign we created:
- Over 825,000 opportunities to see.
- Key coverage in national titles such as The Times, The National and The Scotsman.
- Key features in major news bulletins on Good Morning Scotland.
- 27 items of coverage across print, online, social and broadcast platforms
By using strong voices from the campaign and community in Loch Linnhe we were able to put the campaign front and centre on national news platforms.
Our team carefully researched journalists and publications who would be interested in covering the topic and proactively reached out to promote the story, resulting in impressive coverage.
Through a multi-pronged media approach we were able to secure key coverage across industry-specific and local titles helping to bring more attention to Long Live Loch Linnhe’s vital work.
