Striking images show the fishing industry in a new light

WEST COAST fishermen were caught in a high-quality PR photo-op thanks to Scottish PR.

Our team recently visited the scenic fishing town of Mallaig as part of our ongoing work for the Scottish Fishermen’s Federation (SFF). The main goal of this trip was to build a rich photo gallery of high-resolution, impactful images capturing the local fishermen and fishing community.

The images showcase the immense pride that fishermen take in their work and the vital contributions their industry makes to local communities and Scotland’s economy.

During our visit, we closely documented the sights and scenes of Mallaig’s port, capturing fishermen at work hauling in their catch, auctioning off the day’s bounty, and maintaining their boats and equipment.

Wide shots of the harbor and close-ups of the fresh catch communicate a vivid sense of place and the essence of a working fishing town. Brightly painted vessels juxtaposed with craggy cliffs make for eye-catching photographs brimming with visual interest.

By building this diverse gallery of fishing imagery from Mallaig, we helped the SFF increase its capacity for visual storytelling. These photographs can speak volumes where words cannot and provide an engaging, illustrative look at an often-overlooked industry.

Most importantly, this photo project gave us the opportunity to connect with Mallaig’s fishermen and learn more about their experiences. The imagery captured will be an invaluable asset for celebrating the Scottish fishing community for years to come.
