Scottish PR agency highlight why the City of Perth was at the heart of Scotland’s year of food and drink

IIP Perth Food and Drink coverage in BQ LivePerthshire has been named as key to the success of Scotland’s Year of Food and Drink, according to a senior official from the national tourism organisation and our expert Edinburgh PR team managed to cook up a storm on the story for the media to eat up.

Jim Clarkson of VisitScotland stated that the strength and heritage of the food and drink sector in the region proved crucial in attracting key conferences to Scotland throughout the year, including the UK’s first national conference for craft distillers and the largest industry meet-the-buyer event in the Scottish Calendar.

The Food and Drink Industry is one of Scotland’s key growth sectors with ambitions to grow from £13.1Bn today to £16.5Bn by 2017. Within Perth & Kinross, the annual turnover of the food and drink sector is estimated at £310m and there are in the region of 130 companies in the processing sector highlighting how involved the area is in the industry.
