Spring is in the air. That means Easter eggs, tell tale signs of daffodils and more importantly brighter, longer days – giving us more time to tell more great business boosting stories for our clients. Banks Property was first up with an impressive piece of property development planning. The Hamilton based firms’ proposal to build a key link road near their Glenboig development, was taken forward by the local council as its preferred choice after assessing various rival submissions. If the proposal is approved it will ease congestion around the area and make city commuting a bit easier for residents. News of the link road plans were a hit with the media, as the story made its way into the Airdrie and Coatbridge Advertiser and the Daily Record online. We maximised the stories true potential with appearances in key construction titles, including, Scottish Construction Now and the Strathclyde Business News. When it comes to the community work that Banks Group are famed for, we know it’s important that we never underestimate the power of local media. You might remember a couple of weeks ago, Blackwood Housing and Care held a Dragon’s Den style competition to find the next big innovation that will make a difference to the lives of disabled people. Well, this week, Blackwood invited their winner, Biomedical Engineer Kirubin Pillay from Oxford University, to collect his prize for an “exemplary” pitch for his eye-controlled wheelchair. Kirubin’s remarkable idea will now receive invaluable backing from Blackwood and its’ partners in a bid to make his creative design into a working reality. News of Kirubin’s success made its way into the Edinburgh Evening News, the Evening Times and key care titles, including Homecare.co.uk, Housing News, Housing Scotland Today, The Carer UK and Disabled and Supportive Carer to name a few. To wrap up, Bell Ingram have the birds chirping with two stories worth of coverage. The land managers wanted to inform all private landlords of changes in the private rented housing sector, while offering their expert advice. And if you thought Bell Ingram only dabbled in property, land and legal issues, think again. Our second story put the design team from Bell Ingram in the headlines, when we told the story about their first project for international car manufacturer, Skoda. Both stories got fields of green coverage, featuring in the Edinburgh Evening News, BQ-Live.com, The Herald’s property supplement, Scotland’s Homes, both in print and online, the Press and Journal property supplement, as well as by the Economic Voice. Well that’s all we have time for this week, but join us again next week where we will be celebrating more of our PR successes.
