Tech PR experts secure specialist coverage for gallery’s new virtual tours

AN INNOVATIVE art gallery hit headlines with story showcasing the gallery’s virtual tours, which are allowing visitors to continue to enjoy and buy artists’ work from home.

Morningside Gallery’s new virtual gallery allows visitors to “walk” through the gallery and visit exhibitions – in spite of lockdown – thanks to Scottish pioneers at 360 Virtual Studios and Matterport technology.

The technology, which was previously used for property sales, has allowed visitors to get a real sense of the art in greater depth than a still photo.

Our tech PR experts set to work painting the story and in doing so secured impressive coverage across social, online and print including:

  • 12 significate items of coverage across social media, online, and print.
  • Total reach of 756,101
  • Regional coverage in the Edinburgh Evening News, local coverage on Edinburgh Reporter
  • National coverage on MSN
  • Specialist tech coverage in Digit – a top Scottish tech website

We interviewed the director of Morningside Galley, Eileadh Swan, who revealed how the collaboration has not only assisted the gallery during the pandemic but also the impact it’s having on the artists themselves – who have found displaying their work very difficult over the past year.

Eileadh also gave us an insight into how this technology will change the way Morningside Gallery will conduct its business even after lockdown.

By including how the technology had assisted the gallery to showcase the artists and their work on a global scale helped us to create a positive news story that appealed to arts and culture reporters, tech pages, and local and regional news outlets.

The variety of coverage and is crucial our client 360 Virtual Studios as it demonstrates how technology can assist the arts and showcase to potential customers the vast range of projects that can be achieved.

The coverage was also extremely beneficial for 360 Virtual Studios as it put their name on a key Scottish platform for the tech industry, positioning them as pioneers with the potential to work with businesses across countless industries.

Property Studios is the parent company of 360 Virtual Studios, which uses the same technology to sell houses with virtual 3D tours
