Govan School Kids hit all the right notes with the media

The Scottish Schools Pipes and Drums Trust

PR Photocall makes for great headlines

At this Scottish PR Agency, we are always keeping our eyes peeled and ears to the ground, looking for the best stories to tell for our clients. For the Scottish Schools Pipe Band Championship (SSPBC) we found a story that was sure to hit the right notes with the press.

We found that a Championship winning Police Pipe Band were teaching kids in Govan to play the bagpipes. Watch our video to see how rehearsals went during the photocall.

After drafting a media release about how Greater Glasgow Police Scotland Pipe Band was sharing its expertise with 60 youngsters in Govan, we decided to invite the media along to one of its rehearsals so they could see the band in action, take some snaps and interview some of the bands’ members.

As well as sending our own photographer and videographer along to the event, we also co-ordinated photo opportunities with The Herald, The Evening Times & STV online who all featured the story the following day.

The photo call was part of an ongoing PR campaign to promote the Scottish Schools Pipe Band Championships which takes place on Sunday March 9 at Broughton High School. For more information about the event visit www.scottishschoolspipebandchampionships.com.
