Home that models how Edinburgh hopes to transform the lives of people with disabilities unveiled in PR video

 

OUR videographer was on hand to encapsulate the inspiring moment when customers and staff experienced Blackwood’s cutting-edge, technology-enabled home which aims to transform the day-to-day lives of people with disabilities.

The captivating video cuts between shots of intrigued customers and staff exploring the home and close-ups of the sophisticated technology installed at the Edinburgh Community Rehabilitation and Support Service in Longstone.

Simon Fitzpatrick, Strategic development Director at Blackwood is interviewed alongside Councillor Ricky Henderson, Chair of the Edinburgh Integration Joint Board, who talk of about how the experience is designed to inform people about technology-enabled care in a homely environment.

Mary Guild, tenant of Blackwood and a member of the Blackwood scrutiny panel is also shown easily maneuvering her way around a contemporary kitchen where she is able to raise and lower the sleek countertops and access overhead cupboards with the press of a button.

Simon Fitzpatrick also discusses plans to build over 160 Blackwood homes across Scotland, 45 of which will be constructed in Edinburgh alone.

The video closes with time-lapse shots of visitors exploring the delights of this sleek, high-tech home commemorated beautifully thanks to our expert in-house videographer.
