With the 2015 Rugby World Cup now under way, our dedicated PR team have been converting stories into more great coverage this week with an innovative AGM event, a glitzy launch party and news of a growing Edinburgh software business leading to barn-storming headlines on the BBC website, Scotsman and Herald to name but a few.


Blackwood AGM feedback for concept house - Holywood PR media coverage

When our client Blackwood told us about its AGM with a difference, we knew we could grab the media’s interest.

The care provider is building a reputation for delivering spectacular annual exhibitions, and this year constructed a “home expo style” walk-through version of its Concept House, which demonstrated the various innovative designs and inventions aimed at making everyday life easier for those with disabilities.

Featuring a washing machine that washes, dries and irons clothes, kitchen appliances and worktops that rise and fall at the touch of a button and a spoon that doesn’t spill, the ground-breaking exhibition secured positive coverage on BBC Radio Scotland and in The Times, The Scotsman, The Herald and Edinburgh Evening News, as well as in key online titles. Relaunched Tigerlily uses hospitality PR in Edinburgh

Next up, it’s the glitz and glam of a re-launch party. When Edinburgh’s most exciting boutique hotel, bar and restaurant – Tigerlily – underwent an impressive £500,000 makeover. After providing good work for Tigerlily in the past,  Holyrood PR agency were called in to assist with the relaunch.

As well as refurbishing the ground floor interior and decor, the George Street venue has also created a striking new menu packed with local flavour and the drinks offer has been completely shaken up.

News of the unveiling spread fast, with reporters from the Edinburgh Evening News and The Scotsman joining us for the big reveal, with build up and follow up coverage hitting various publications, including The Herald, the Daily Business Group and Citylicious.

And while the PR team were working up the coverage, our video production team worked to target young trendsetters to start talking about the new refurb. And we knew that targeting users on instagram with a series of short videos would definitely whet the appetite of any instagrammer.

Lastly one of our newest clients to join the PR agency, Ticketing solutions firm RED61, smashed its way onto almost every national business page when it announced the key part it played in helping the Edinburgh Festival enjoy record ticket sales this year.

The firm, which uses the innovative VIA software to allow ticketing for huge events like the Fringe run without a hitch, sold a whopping 2million of the 2.3million tickets sold at the event this year.

Chief Executive Tony Davey was keen to tell the story of his firm’s success in Scotland and abroad as he attacks new markets. Tony was delighted with the coverage as it touched down in almost all the national business press including the Scotsman, Herald and Daily Record, as well as getting in front of the huge online audience on the BBC website.
