Video tells story for Scottish public relations agency and Surgeon’s Hall
Attending events and rubbing shoulders, is only part and parcel of the role of any public relations team. The latest event attended by this Scottish public relations agency was the latest Scottish experience to hit Edinburgh, hosted by our client The Royal College of Surgeons. But for our video team, this just meant more opportunities to capture the best highlights of Sláinte at Surgeon’s Hall in Edinburgh.
The Slàinte Scottish Experience – hosted at Edinburgh’s historic Playfair Building, Surgeons’ Hall – welcomed more than one hundred leading industry experts in
travel, events and tourism to sample food, music and entertainment, before the attraction opens its doors for up to 16,000 visitors per year.
And as Outstanding small PR consultancy in Scotland we wanted to take every opportunity to make sure Sláinte at Surgeon’s Hall got its name in front of all the tourist industry names and trade titles.
So as well as telling the story of night in words and pictures, we threw in our video creatives into the works to create a promotional video to share in our press package with the media and tourism agents to show an unmissable night full of all things Scottish for tourists coming to Edinburgh.
Local legend Bill Barclay, led the evening injecting Scottish humour and opportunities to sing along with traditional Scottish music played by the powerhouse band that once made ‘Jamie’s Evenings’ the best known Scottish experience in Edinburgh. Guests were guaranteed a night to remember as the evening began with the piping of the haggis, followed by a taste of authentic Scottish whisky.
sat down to an evening of Scottish cuisine, history and culture all bridged with a combination of a ‘wee bit’ of Scottish humour, music and dancing. Guests were guaranteed a night to remember as the evening began with the piping of the haggis, followed by a taste of authentic Scottish whisky.
But as PR experts we know that the real power of a successful story is asking someone to say how good the night was. So after the night ended we set out to capture testimonials from the top tier of tourism professionals to form the basis of the video.
Industry players such as Marketing Edinburgh, VisitScotland and Expedia – to name a few – discussed how the uniques blend of culture and entertainment in an iconic and historical setting is a must-see attraction and night to remember for tourists that will well and truly boost the local and national tourism trade. What more could a client ask for?
Well, by being a client of Holyrood PR, the Royal College of Surgeons in Edinburgh didn’t even have to ask for more. Using the video release we sent out the the press, our editing team went the extra mile to give the video a personal touch, and gave the whole video a rebrand, complete with the logos and colours that belong to the historic Edinburgh institution.
The video is now part of The Royal College of Surgeon’s marketing arsenal as engaging visual content that can be shared far and wide with stakeholders and customers.
