Racecourse sculpture needs a promotional video to stand the test of time
Everyone’s birthday needs something to mark the occasion. And for Musselburgh Racecourse’s Bicentenary a specially designed sculpture was being made to be unveiled by none other than her majesty, the Queen. But what about when you want to mark the mark of the occasion? Our extensive video production services for Musselburgh Racecourse were called on again, to film how the monumental sculpture was made for Edinburgh’s historic racecourse.
With just two days of shooting, our videographer Craig, shot all the footage needed to show an epic glimpse of what goes on behind the scenes to making steel sculptures like this. Featuring the skilled steel workers at Had Fab Ltd in East Lothian, the video shows the process of constructing, welding and installing Musselburgh Racecourse’s finely crafted sculpture, all before the Queen’s visit on 8 July 2016.
The sculpture itself is a three piece structure, which forms the Musselburgh Racecourse logo of two horses inset of a crown. Can you see the horses?
And as per the Holyrood PR way, we made sure the team at Musselburgh Racecourse could use the video everywhere to mark the occasion – on their CCTV screens on the day of the Bicentenary celebrations, social media and on YouTube.
