Scottish Cyber Awards lead sponsors with PR Video

A BOOMING cyber security industry will once again vie for honours – as the Scottish Cyber Awards return with help from our Tech PR experts and a series of insightful PR videos.

Hosted by the Scottish Business Resilience Centre (SBRC), the awards will shine a light on innovative work and thinking across Scotland, focusing on the positive aspects of what is becoming a critical industry for Scotland’s economic development.

A wide range of awards will recognise businesses, academics and individuals committed to enhancing Scotland’s world-leading reputation in the fight against cyber-crime.

With a proven track record of getting stories heard for the Scottish Business Resilience Centre and the first ever Scottish Cyber Awards in 2016, our Tech PR experts were asked to lead the campaign which we kicked of with a spectacular spread of coverage and a series of versatile videos featuring the sponsors of 2017 and winners of 2016, optimised to be shared across Facebook and Twitter.

Zonefox

Zonefox, a cyber start-up lead by chief executive, Dr Jamie Greaves, won last year’s Champion of Champions award at the Scottish Cyber Awards. This year Zonefox
returns to sponsor the event. Jamie shared his thoughts on what make the cyber community unique in Scotland as well as how the awards have contributed to Zonefox’s success in the last year.

PwC

Sponsoring the event itself, is leading professional full-service frim, PwC. With a cyber security division, PwC cyber security director, John Whitehill and Cyber security partner, Colin Slater, were delighted with the success of last year’s awards and are really excited to see how this year’s event has evolved to bring the community together again.

Bill Buchanan – Cyber Evangelist of the Year 2016

Bill Buchanan was honoured with an OBE for his services to cyber security. And to add to that he was Cyber evangelist of the year at the Scottish Cyber Awards in 2016. A legend throughout the cyber security, he is a professor at Napier University where he leads the Centre for Distributed Computing and Security. In his video leading up to the Scottish Cyber Awards 2017 he explains what makes Scotland such a unique place in tackling cyber threats.
