When Crombies of Edinburgh announced their new twist to the traditional Scottish dish in time for Burns Day we were of course intrigued into trying the savoury haggis doughnuts after seeing the story on Deadline News.
Our very own Account Manager, Chris Fairbairn, cooked up the round treats and brought them to the office for us all to try out and partake in the Burns Day festivities by enjoying the traditional Burns Day delicacy. Our team here at award winning agency Holyrood PR had mixed views on how the doughnuts would taste and some were skeptical to their appeal. However the overall response of the office really enjoyed the mid morning snack with the majority of us going back for seconds.
The haggis and beef doughnuts were in a selection of colours and came in a variety of flavours to appeal to different tastes. You could choose from mint and rosemary seasoning which created a green doughnut, a lemon and pepper seasoning accomplished a yellow doughnut, or if something with a bit more of a kick appeals to your taste there was a fiery orange coloured doughnut which was flavoured with chilli.
We thoroughly enjoyed trying this new take on haggis and hope Crombies bring back the doughnuts for Burns Day 2017!
