To find powerful stories the team at Holyrood PR have to spot the potential that our clients often overlook or take for granted – and make their stories worth telling.
For Eagle Couriers that meant finding the best possible angle when the company was awarded a new environmental standard. The problem was that environmental standards are hardly the stuff of memorable headlines. Even the name – ISO 14001 – is turn off. And few media outlets want photos of a certificate handover.
So we challenged Eagle Couriers to explain further and after trawling through their records some remarkable figures emerged.
As Scotland’s biggest independent courier company they’ve reduce the distance traveled by their fleet of delivery vehicles by 100,000 miles a year. And they now recycle 650 used tyres, 1100 pallets and 1500 litres of oil annually – all waste that previously would have been sent to landfill sites. Armed with that information we were able to arrange a picture opportunity with Green MSP Alison Johnstone – but we didn’t want any ordinary photo call. Instead we sourced we sourced half a dozen worn tyres and used them to take lively, unusual and eye catching pictures outside the Scottish Parliament.
The result? A business milestone that would have gone unsung has instead been turned into an achievement worth shouting about, on paper, on air and online.
Does your business deserve to have its stories better told?
