As part of a bid to increase community engagement and encourage visitors 25 life size fibre glass clydesdale horses popped up over town, and Banks offered £20,000 from its Community Support fund to recreate two of the horses to keep them in the town on the permanent basis.
Holyrood PR asked Hamilton Advertiser if they would be interested in running an online competition to give readers a chance to vote for their favourite horse. The competition generated a huge buzz and gained Banks great coverage.
