Tea bag angel brings joy to property pr

Leading land and estate agents Bell Ingram caused a stir in the press over the Christmas period when staff from its Perthshire office revealed they had been brewing up double their usual amount of cuppas and contributing the used, dried tea bags to a rather unusual community art project. This unique project was the construction of an imaginative, eight foot tall angel sculpture made, in its entirety, from the distinctive ‘fabric’ of over 4000 recycled tea bags, in a wide variety of shapes and colours.

Dunblane resident, Sue Horne, was the artist behind the out of the ordinary creation, which was also backed by world-renowned classical Syrian guitarist Ayman Jarjour and ultimately aimed to raise funds for Syrian refugees.

The project was hugely successful, raising a final total of over £2300 for charity Aid4All and the ‘tea angel’ has since been flown to Dunblane Cathedral to continue to raise funds for a great cause.

The story of the innovative festive project proved to be a huge hit with key media sources, and featured just one day after issue in target publication the Stirling Observer, which circulates locally to a readership of over 8,300.

Over the next week leading up to Christmas, the newsof the charitable creation and Bell Ingram’s generous contribution gained a wide spread of coverage across further far-reaching local titles, including the Strathallan Times and the Stirling News.

Again, these are two particularly important publications in terms of successfully spreading the word around the local area in which the angel was displayed, and reach a combined readership over the tens of thousands mark.

Vitally, the story then made ripples even further afield, with pick up in the Perthshire Advertiser and The Courier – two big hits for Perthshire-based Bell Ingram. By reac
hing key publications such as these for our client, our committed PR team ensures that the land and estate expert’s positive news reaches its target audience and therefore ultimately grows its reputation within the industry and local area.

The news then spread even further across Scotland, reaching as far as the Dundee
community with a fantastic, informative feature in the Dundee Evening Telegraph – a well-read daily newspaper with a circulation of nearly 20,000 local readers – therefore ensuring the story was fully exposed through a range of highly valued publications.

Finally, when our expert PR team, Holyrood PR, announced that the creative sculpture had raised an incredible £2,000 plus for Syrian refugees, the Stirling Observer ran a follow up piece to recognise the tea angel’s fantastic success.
