THE BREAST PICTURE EVER (Lewis)

Thailand’s Got Talent has sparked outrage after one of its contestants stripped off her clothes on stage and painted a canvas using her bare breasts. Duangjai Jansauoni’s racy routine drew gasps from the crowd, and has prompted a rebuke from the nation’s government who labelled it ‘very shocking’. The show, broadcast yesterday on Thailand’s Channel 3, featured 23-year-old Duangjai Jansaunoi, who walked onstage barefoot in jeans and a baggy men’s button-down shirt. She introduced herself as an independent artist from northern Thailand. She then turned to a large canvas and painted a yellow outline of a person. She then removed her shirt, unhooked a black bra and doused herself with several tins of paint before turning to the audience with a broad smile to display her multicolored torso.

INFALLIBLE FACEBOOK FRIENDS (Sarah)

We are all, even subconsciously, guilty of sub-categorising our facebook friends according to how they update their profiles (or, as I like to call it, their posting patterns). For example, I can tell you by just glimpsing a friend’s profile picture what kind of post is likely to accompany it – a few are those constantly trying to make us better people by posting news stories or calls to arms for minority groups. Worse than these are those who seem to spend all their time uploading cartoon plastered proverbs that say things like ‘there is no snooze button on a hungry cat’. Others tell you what they had to eat while another group go one step further by uploading a picture of said meal. Buzzfeed have come up with a list of 14 different ‘types’ of facebook friend. It’s worth a read, although warning; it may well lead to the desire for a facebook cull. Let’s face it, its probably about time…

GET LICKIN’ WONKA’S SNOZZBERRY (Aimee)

We’ve all seen the hidden sexual messages in Disney classics like The Little Mermaid-remeber the phallic palace? Well I’m about to reveal what is classed as the filthiest joke ever hidden in a kid’s movie! That movie is Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and the scene is Wonka inviting children to lick his snozzberry flavoured wall paper! We laughed because we thought snozzberry was completely made up but of course it wasn’t, it refers to a very different kind of ‘sweetie.’

MAKING THE MOVE WITH IKEA  (Gaynor)

After spending three hours in Ikea on Sunday you’d think I’d be bored of the place. Well I’m not actually; when you’re moving house Ikea seems like some kind of mecca that you can’t bring yourself to stop visiting. The interesting thing about the Swedish brand’s new campaign is that they have chosen to target Canadians moving on the July the 1st- the most popular moving day in the country. What’s weird about this is I’m moving on that day and could really do with a piece of the action. They have made cardboard branded posters which can be pulled down and transformed into moving boxes. I think this is a great campaign which should be rolled out across the UK- maybe I’m being biased though because I’m moving!

PUT THAT IN YOUR POT AND STEEP IT (Emily)

Glasgow University completed a study of 6,000 people, and found a connection between heavy tea drinkers and prostate cancer. Their results say that men who drink 7 or more cups of black tea a day have a 50% higher chance of contracting the disease than those who drink three cups or fewer a day. The tea industry has fervently rejected their claims, and presented studies of their own that say tea actually prevents the disease.  While there’s no distinct cause and effect relationship between the two, it’s certainly something to look at! And I know I might try to cut back on my tea in-take today.
