The American, who is known for his innovative approach to prison management, was visiting Scotland to address business leaders affiliated to the Winning Entrepreneurs networking club.
Business 7, which provides Scottish readers with the latest business news and features, revealed that the notoriously tough American was scared he would be forced to taste Scotland’s national dish – haggis.
Burl, who was named Warden of Louisiana State Penitentiary in January 1995, told the publication: “”I don’t know if I am trying any haggis.”
