ONE OF the UK’s most stylish race venues, Musselburgh Racecourse, achieved fantastic coverage for its popular New Years Day race meeting.

The annual fixture was extra special as it kick started the racecourse’s Bicentenary year.

To celebrate, the first 200 racegoers were given a golden envelope and treated to exclusive prizes upon entry – a concept conceived and delivered by the hospitality PR team at Holyrood PR in Scotland.

Racing enthusiasts were also able to enjoy popular races including the Totepool Hogmaneigh Handicap Hurdle and Totepool Scottish Premier Steeple Chase throughout the day.

A seasonal twist to the afternoon was the chance to soak in the atmosphere of one of the most historic athletic events in the world, the 147th New Year Sprint, which attracts athletes from across the country to compete for the £4000 prize money.

Coverage started to build quickly with the release appearing online on theedinburghreporter.co.uk after just a matter of hours of being issued.

Key titles such as the Edinburgh Evening News and Border Telegraph also featured the release highlighting the key attractions of the Totepool New Year’s Day meeting. The potential audience of these publications combined is over 35,000.

The coverage didn’t end there with the release also appearing online on Edinburghnews.scotsman – a potential audience of over 10,000 people as well as on Dailybusinessgroup.com, Heraldscotland.com and Thescotsman.com – a huge combined audience of over 600,000.
