TIGERLILY, Edinburgh’s phenomenally successful hotel, bar and restaurant, has received the ultimate accolade after being named one of the world’s 65 Coolest New Hotels by the influential Conde Nast Traveller magazine.

Tigerlily is the only Scottish hotel to feature in the publication’s prestigious Hot Hotel List for 2007 – and one of only six in the UK.

The Conde Nast Traveller editorial team praised the George Street-based venue for its ‘beautifully decorated rooms’, ‘upbeat, professional service’ and ‘brilliant bistro food’.

The magazine also paid homage to flagship Tigerlily features such as the pink neon lighting and giant rotating disco ball, describing it as ‘indefatigably girly.’

Reaching the Conde Nast Traveller Hot List is widely regarded as the highest honour for any new hotel, allowing those included to lay claim to being one of the most fashionable places to stay in the world.

Lucy Henderson, Marketing Manager for Montpeliers, the group behind Tigerlily, said the venue’s team of dedicated professionals are delighted with the accolade.

Ms Henderson said: “We are absolutely ecstatic that Tigerlily has received this recognition from Conde Nast Traveller. Being named one of their ‘coolest hotels’ reflects the fact that Tigerlily is at the forefront of Scottish hospitality in terms of style and innovation in Scotland’s ever evolving tourism sector.

Being lucky enough to work among these sumptuous surroundings and unique, vibrant décor, we already knew Tigerlily had to be one of the world’s coolest hotels. To reach the Hot Hotel list with Conde Nast Traveller, which is widely regarded as the world leader in independent and meticulously researched travel journalism, makes it official as far as we are concerned.”

She added: “The select team of professionals involved in Tigerlily have worked incredibly hard to make it the success it is, and, with a host of new innovations in the pipeline, we have no intention of standing still. We look forward to continuing to make Tigerlily a welcoming and fabulous experience for customers from across the world and Scotland alike, whether it’s for a magical weekend break, a glamorous night out partying or a cheeky afternoon cocktail.”

A Condé Nast Traveller spokesman said: “Our annual hotel search begins with recommendations from our clued-up contributors and contacts in more than 30 countries, and continues until the most notable newcomers have been checked out. What they all have in common is the style and talent to see off even the toughest competition.”

The hip boutique hotel, which has also seen its restaurant and bar become a must-do hotspot among Edinburgh residents and visitors alike, has soared in popularity since its launch in June, accruing a host of awards and rave reviews.

This latest stamp of approval from the world-renowned travel editorial team at Conde Nast Traveller will cement Tigerlily’s status as a premiere hotel experience on a global scale.
