Colleagues deliver profile-raising benefits during whirlwind of public relations success

Thought leadership PR proves no challenge to procurement experts | Scottish PR

A TRIO of impressive colleagues have blazed a trail of thought leadership success on behalf of a Scotland’s leading procurement specialist.

By tackling head-on a host of the issues affecting the country’s hard-pressed housing sector, the women notched up agenda-setting headlines for the Scottish Procurement Alliance.

Their great work helped position SPA as a considered and trustworthy voice in housing, with each of them addressing weighty topics in the most important publications serving the sector.

SPA’s Lesley Anderson, Regional Director and Heather O’Donnell, Technical Support Manager, both featured, as did Kate Christie of the renowned housing charity the Lintel Trust, a hugely important SPA partner. The highlights included:

  • Two pieces of coverage in hugely influential title, Inside Housing
  • Coverage in national outlets including The Herald and Holyrood Magazine
  • Features in sector-specific publications such as Scottish Housing News and Housing Digital
  • Coverage in UK-wide magazine, Housing Executive
  • Over 435,000 opportunities to be seen.

The coverage is hugely important to SPA as it seeks to set the agenda on identifying and addressing key industry challenges and to be a prominent and pro-sector voice in breaking news stories.

By tackling issues like the housing crisis, community benefits, housing targets and improving support to communities in the face of nearly £200m worth of cuts, Lesley, Heather and Kate won the media’s attention.

The thought leadership pieces effectively positioned them in front of their target audiences, providing significant exposure to potential clients and industry peers. These articles also catapulted them into the national spotlight during a major breaking story – the Edinburgh housing crisis.

Holyrood PR has a superb track record in helping to establish our clients as bona fide thought leaders and we worked with the SPA team to identify key topics that captured the attention of news and specialist titles and their readership.

Additionally, their rapid response to the Housing Emergency declared in Edinburgh in late 2023, saw SPA positioned in key media publications in clear view of political stakeholders.
