Renowned Edinburgh design experts team up to put stylish lighting on the agenda
TWO OF Edinburgh’s best known designers have teamed up to launch Shaboo Lighting, a new business for the New Year, selling an exclusive range of lamps and lights for homes and for the trade.
The designers decided to team up after they found a shortage of good lamps and lights to buy for the various renovations and makeovers they have been doing for homes around the Edinburgh area in recent years.
Sheila Loudon said, “We hope we’ve identified an opportunity. From our own experience, we just haven’t been able to source lights which really stand out for the crowd. Now we think we have come up with a stunning range which we hope will prove popular for people wanting to make their homes look special.”
Emily Black added, “In the makeovers and renovations that I do, the lamps and lights can add the special finish that makes a good look into a great one. We love these lights and we now want to make them available to a new group of customers to brighten up their homes.”
Sheila Loudon has designed the printed fabrics which make up the shades on the new range of lights and lamps. Her business, Dingwall Fabrics, is based at Morningside Road, and offers a full range of curtain services.
Emily Black works mainly on renovations and makeovers of private homes for an exclusive range of clients in the Edinburgh and surrounding areas.
Emily added, “Some people think we are mad starting a new business in a recession but we are determined to succeed despite the economic climate.”
The new range of Shaboo Lights can be viewed and purchased at Emily Black Interiors at 10 Morningside Drive, EH10 5LY.
