Edinburgh Pub Hits the Headlines Neigh Bother

G1 Group Media Coverage

The Three Sisters- St Patrick's DayThe Three Sisters in Edinburgh’s Cowgate area, has backed a dead-cert winner by creating a horse racing track in its grounds as the centrepiece of its St Patrick’s Day celebrations.

When we heard the news that the popular pub was transforming the courtyard area into a mini Cheltenham racecourse, complete with a track, grass and “horses”, we decided we needed to attract all types of media to the event.

The unusual sports event was the main feature of the four day Irish-themed celebrations and Holyrood PR managed to secure coverage on STV Edinburgh, the Edinburgh Reporter and St Paddy’s Online. We also invited down a photographer from the Edinburgh Evening News which led to a photo of the “mane” event featuring as the newspaper’s photo of the day. The Three Sisters- St Patrick's Day. Non-racers also took part by checking-in on The Three Sister’s Facebook page and collecting Paddy Pounds at the bar allowing them to place bets on their favourite horses for a chance to win prizes.

In addition to the horse racing, there was also a DJ set and exclusive meet and greet with Boyzone’s Shane Lynch and Keith Duffy, a Garth Brooks cover band complete with line dance instructor, acoustic music with Raymond Considine,  Irish dancing by Rhythm Jig and a performance of Lurgan v Avicii by YouTube sensation Seo Linn.
