Anyone who has been left frantically rummaging through bags, anxiously patting themselves down and making frenzied calls to friends and relatives know exactly how inconvenient it is to lose a set.
Now Scotland’s biggest independent courier company is working in partnership with the SpareKeys service to help ease the pain and stress associated with misplaced keys.
Eagle Couriers, which has bases in Edinburgh, Glasgow and Bathgate is delighted to be working with the 24 hour emergency service.
SpareKeys, operate across the UK and charges a small monthly fee for careful home and vehicle owners to have an extra set of keys kept in highly secure locations, where they can be accessed when needed. Each set of keys is identified only by a special code, held by the owner, and no personal details or addresses are stored.
Jerry Stewart, one of three directors with Eagle Couriers, said: “We’re delighted to be the chosen delivery partner for this service in Scotland. SpareKeys has been built on a reputation for trustworthiness and excellent security, which is absolutely crucial.
“We work to the same exacting standards and that is why we have spent so many years being trusted by clients including the NHS, the BBC the Government Procurement Service.
“When we collect a set of keys from SpareKeys we get them to the owner as quickly as possible, though only hand them over when we have been given a password.
“It is a service anyone would be happy to be involved with, because the people who are waiting for their keys are truly delighted to see our drivers when they turn up.”
Barry Shaverin, Managing Founder of Spare Keys, said the fact that Eagle Couriers has been operating in Scotland for 30 years and worked with many Government agencies and blue chip companies was important in appointing them.
He said SpareKeys clients enjoyed the peace of mind knowing they can access their stored keys at any time – but stressed that customers also demanded the highest levels of security to know their keys would never fall into the wrong hands.
It is believed to be the only key recovery service in the world which does not store the addresses of its clients. When it receives a set of keys, they are given a unique code, photographed, placed in tamper-proof bag and then put into a safe by carefully vetted security staff.
Mr Shaverin added: “With Eagle Couriers we know we are dealing with a long-established and highly-respected company who understand the importance of security, while also appreciating that our clients are often under stress and that a calm, cool and collected attitude should prevail.
“We’ve got off to an excellent start with Eagle Couriers and look forward to cementing that working relationship over many years to come.”
Eagle Couriers provide services to more than 3,500 clients and employ over 100 drivers who ensure that client’s packages arrive on time and intact. More information can be found at www.eaglecouriers.co.uk
