The Grass is Always Greener in Greenock

Bield Housing And Care Press releases

Carwood Court GardenTenants at a Bield sheltered housing development in Greenock are set to see that the grass is always greener with the launch of a new garden.

The large landscaping project began a year ago, visit the website to see what landscaping company helped us. The ‘perimeter block flats’ around Carwood Court were demolished as they had become unpopular and difficult to let.

As well as providing an opportunity to redevelop the garden, the demolition work has allowed the Carwood Street site, which previously had been obscured by the high buildings, to be bathed in natural sunlight.

In addition, a new fence has been put up around the perimeter of the garden to isolate the area from neighbouring properties and reduce external noise and disruption to tenants.

The garden was officially launched at an Open Day at the development and was attended by staff, tenants, families and tenants from nearby developments. Everyone enjoyed a cup of tea and a slice of cake whilst admiring the new garden.Carwood Court Garden Open Day

Margaret Lacey, Scheme Manager at the development said: “The arrival of the new garden is really great.

“Our tenants feel much happier with the new space that we have and most importantly they feel much safer with the new fence in place.

“The Open Day was the perfect opportunity for us to officially launch the garden and allow tenants and their families to enjoy the new area.

“We are very committed to enriching the lives of our tenants wherever we possibly can and this garden is a perfect, serene place for our tenants to get some fresh air and relax.

“It’s a shame that we are out of summer and into autumn already but I am sure that everyone will enjoy watching the seasons change in the garden.”
