The Golden Winners in Holyrood PR

The week has been full of golden celebrations and innovation at Holyrood PR. From our five awards at the 2014 CIPR Pride Awards to the launch of our client’s pioneering new office and the stream of coverage we achieved for one of our newest client campaigns.

First up, it was smiles and celebrations all round this week as the Holyrood team bagged the largest number of awards at this year’s CIPR Pride Awards 2014. Our work on behalf of clients, including catering giants, wind farm developers and a sports tournament organiser, saw us nominated seven times.

We struck gold for best Low Budget Category for our work with Indian Restaurant chain Khushi’s, Best Community Relations Campaign for work with property and renewable energy firm The Banks Group and Best Sporting Campaign for our work on the European Championships event for American giant US Kids Golf.

The hat-trick of wins was also reinforced by silver awards for Best Use of Media Relations, for our client The Scottish Business Resilience Centre, and Corporate and Business Communication Campaign of the year for our work with Sodexo Prestige.

Our Director Scott Douglas was over the moon with the wins, saying: “This was a great result for our team and recognition of all the hard work they put in delivering excellent results on behalf of our varied clients.”

Next up, this week we also celebrated the grand unveiling of the pioneering new office of Blackwood, the innovative care providers, at Dundee Street in Edinburgh. Blackwood staff, board and scrutiny group members all attended the event and joined in the celebrations.

International prosthetic technology designers, Touch Bionics, were also among the guests at the event – sharing ribbon cutting duties with Minister for Housing and Welfare Margaret Burgess and demonstrating how innovation can help to improve care and quality of life.

Not only was the event a success with guests, it also went down a storm with the media who also attended– achieving strong coverage on The Edinburgh Reporter online – including an exclusive video interview, and featured in the Edinburgh Evening News and Scottish Federation of Housing Associations Online.

Lastly, our client Thames Water Commercial Services hit the headlines this week when it announced its new Edinburgh-based operations team. A six-strong team has been created in the capital to grow their share of the commercial water services market north of the border.

Media coverage flooded in for the announcement, with a page lead on the front page of the business section of the Scotland on Sunday followed by column inches in the Edinburgh Evening News and several articles of online coverage on business and utility news sites.

That’s all we have time for this week but join us again for more of the latest on our clients at Holyrood PR.
