WE recently shared the instant PR success of one of our newest clients, Skyrora, following the company’s commercial rocket launch and the reveal of their rocket engine test launch site – the first to take place in the UK for 50 years.

September proved to be just as jam-packed, with Skyrora announcing the appointment of an advisory board. Dr Tom Markusic, Garry Webb and Craig Clark MBE bring with them a combined experience of several decade’s work with industry leaders such as NASA, Virgin Galactic and Skylark.

The news didn’t stop there for the Scottish space agency as we spread the word of their latest partnership with the STEM Ambassador Programme. Helping to inspire the next generation of talent, Skyrora have already travelled across the UK in the hope of encouraging youngsters to pursue a career in science, technology, engineering and maths.

The team delivered talks as far as Cornwall as well as visiting local schools closer to home, capturing the attention of local and national media.

Putting their money where their mouth is, Skyrora underlined their commitment to nurturing engineering talent with four new staff hires.

Dr Jack-James Marlow, Kate Howard, Ben Jarvis and Nicola Walker bring with them fresh ideas and a breadth of talent, supporting Skyrora’s rapidly growing team at an exciting time for the space developer.

We told the stories of Skyrora’s recent developments and managed to deliver:

  • Three powerful stories securing coverage across mainstream and specialist media, generating 19 articles and reaching over 300,000 people
  • National coverage in The Scotsman and The National
  • Specialist and business coverage in Rocketeers, Daily Business and High Growth Scotland
  • A feature interview with Craig Clark MBE on Good Morning Scotland

This media coverage is crucial for Skyrora as the company establishes itself as a central player in the industry, ready to launch satellites into orbit by 2020.
