Skyrora achieved a flurry of TV and radio attention following landmark UK multi-launch deal

The Edinburgh-based rocket, Skyrora, was the media darling in October 2021 following its announcement of a multi-launch agreement with SaxaVord spaceport in Shetland, making it the first of its kind in the UK.

Whilst they story achieved coverage throughout the country and garnered an estimated audience reach of more than 29million – it was the media attention from broadcast giants which sent the story into lift-off.

Our tech PR helped orchestrate a number of TV and radio interviews on some of the country’s biggest outlets, as well as coordinate broadcast coverage on a number of these outlets.

 Our highlights included:

  • Global, national and regional TV and Radio coverage
  • Five items of major broadcast coverage including BBC World News, BBC Breakfast, BBC Radio Shetland, BBC Radio Scotland and Times Radio
  • Achieved coverage on a number of local and regional radio station websites through the UK
  • Coverage on STV News, ITV, BBC and Sky News websites

Our PR team helped to assist Skyrora with their release and guided them in the distribution plan. We sent over the release to the Press Association to enable maximum chances of coverage success.

This in turn helped grab the attention of the aforementioned broadcast titles and helped set up broadcast interviews in TV and radio which was featured notably on multiple platforms across the BBC.

Through this expansive rollout and our knowledge of press within certain sectors the story dominated the space industry agenda throughout the foreseeable month and firmly planted Skyrora as a key player in the emerging UK sector.
