A HIGHLY reputed local cosmetic nurse is set to take to the global stage this week, addressing her professional peers at two major conferences in Sweden.

Jackie Partridge, co-founder and Clinical Director of Dermal Clinic in Morningside, Edinburgh, will be jetting off to attend two international events which will see her lead the conversation on raising and maintaining global nursing standards.

The esteemed aesthetic nurse is one of 14 to be carefully selected by the dermatology giant, Galderma, to sit on the Global Nurse Faculty which met for the first time in Paris last year.

Bringing together a group of highly qualified experts in aesthetics from around the world, Jackie and her colleagues will meet in the Swedish city of Uppsala to discuss the development of the role of nurses, best practice and raising international standards.

Jackie is well placed to bring her wealth of knowledge and years of experience to the panel as a founding – and now honorary – member of the British Association of Cosmetic Nurses (BACN), the largest professional association for nurses who carry out aesthetic treatments in the UK.

She said: “It’s such a delight to be joining a dream team of aesthetic experts for productive discussion surrounding the issue of industry standards.

“In the UK, we adhere to some of the strictest regulation – but more work is required to establish global best practice.

“All patients should feel safe in the knowledge that qualified, experienced nurses are leading their treatment, with results to match.

“The best way we can ensure this is the case across the industry is by sharing our knowledge and expertise – it is so important for progress.”

Immediately following the Global Nurse Faculty meeting, Jackie will be heading to Stockholm for ‘Beauty Through Science: International Aesthetic Medicine Congress’ to present in front of industry professionals, including doctors, nurses, surgeons and dermatologists. The Congress is expecting a 2000 strong attendance.

Jackie will be addressing the current state of the industry and how the role and requirement of aesthetic nurses is changing according to worldwide trends and needs.

No stranger to the podium, Jackie recently presented at the Aesthetics Conference and Exhibition (ACE) in London, focusing on safe practice with high quality results.

She has even hosted her own masterclasses, sharing top tips and techniques for treatment with live injection demonstrations and Q&A sessions.

Jackie added: “It’s always exciting and daunting to stand up and present to so many esteemed professional peers but it’s such a vital aspect of what I do.

“We are given a level of responsibility as practitioners – so we must do all we can to maintain exceptionally high standards.”

Multi-award-winning Dermal Clinic, located on Church Hill Place in Morningside, offers state-of-the-art cosmetic treatments performed by medically-qualified practitioners.
