Founder of Swap the House Martin Walker was the subject of an article in his local paper the East Lothian Courier.
The article details how he launched the housing exchange website, after struggling to sell his own home. He hopes that the site will give home owners the change to exchange or part exchange their properties with others, rather than relying on the traditional process of buying and selling.
The scheme works in a similar way to online dating, where users enter the details of their home and the site searches for the best matches.Of the website Martin quotes: ‘Our Swap the House website, is the place where people can be brought together and communicate with other like minded peoplefrom anywhere in the country to achieve a common goal – to move house’
He adds: ‘We’re not trying to replace the service that estate agents and solictors provide. Instead we want sellers or those looking to sell to ak their estate agent to list their home on Swap the House’
The full article can be read in the East Lothian Courier and was secured as part of a successful PR and social media campaign carried out by oublic relations agency, The Holyrood PR.
