Pollution Solutions feature Panton McLeod Mussels StoryPollution Solution has published an article detailing Panton McLeod’s unusual challenge during routine cleaning at a major water treatment works – tonnes of freshwater mussel shells.

The website aims to bring the latest company news, products, services, applications, case studies and technology solutions from around the globe for the treatment of wastewater, clean up of air, remediation of soil and the handling of waste.

Under the headline “Water Experts Mussel in on Cleaning Job for Severn Trent” the piece describes how the water quality engineering firm tackled the unexpected problem during a routine clean at the Campion Hills Water Treatment Works, which is owned by Severn Trent Water.

Chris Faulks, Panton McLeod’s Nottingham based supervisor, is quoted in the article. He said: “It’s very unusual to deal with a situation like this and it’s a complete surprise when you see it for the first time. The lads all thought that it was going to be a routine cleaning job, so they were pretty shocked when they saw that there were tonnes of mussels in two of the tanks.”

Panton McLeod was called in for the cleaning project which was part of a wider improvement scheme on the site.

The full article can be found on the Pollution Solution website and was the result of a successful Scottish public relations campaign by the Holyrood PR.
