How a hand-picked bunch of influencers made the perfect addition to Maison Bleue’s 20th anniversary celebrations

NOT many restaurants in Edinburgh have shown longevity in the business like the iconic Maison Bleue.

Serving up an eclectic mix of French, North African and Scottish cuisine, owner Dean Gassabi and his daughter Layla have successfully turned Maison Bleue on Victoria Street into an Edinburgh institution.

They have established and maintained a group of fiercely loyal customers; they’ve catered to thousands of hungry tourists exploring the Old Town and have even played host to names like Leonardo DiCaprio and Gwen Stefani over the years.

So, we knew that Maison Bleue’s 20th anniversary bash had to celebrate everything that makes the restaurant so loved, while looking forward to the future.

Our relationship with the team behind Maison Bleue is a long standing one; Holyrood PR has been on hand for the restaurant’s 15th anniversary, for its huge refurb in 2016, and for the launch of Maison Bleue at Home in 2016 – a joint venture with Social Bite.

As part of the 20th anniversary celebrations, Maison Bleue planned an exclusive event for its long-term customers, friends and family – and asked our team to secure some key influencers to join in the festivities.

We’re always banging on about why selecting the ‘right kind’ of influencers is so important. For this particular event, we knew the foodies of Edinburgh would want to come along and experience some classic Maison Bleue hospitality, as well as some influential names in the business media, plus the all-important local press.

While Dean’s team got busy serving up prosecco cocktails and classic Maison Bleue dishes, our influencers got snap happy with social media stories and posts.

Some of the highlights included:

  • Social media posts and stories reaching over 97,690 people across Facebook, Twitter and Instagram
  • A mixture of guests from the worlds of food blogging, business journalism, glossy magazines, national broadcast and both local newspapers, Edinburgh Evening News and The Edinburgh Reporter
