Scottish Dental Group’s HQ Doubles in Size as Expansion Plans Grow
A RAPIDLY-growing dental group has moved to showpiece headquarters in Glasgow city centre to accommodate its ambitious expansion plans.
The move sees Clyde Munro Dental Group’s support centre double in size, with 35 staff moving into a new 2000 sq ft base in Douglas Street next door to one of its flagship dental practices in the city centre of Glasgow.
The new Support Centre is part of Clyde Munro’s growing footprint in Scotland, with the group now boasting 25 practices across the country together with a significant number in the pipeline which will see the group double in size in the next 12 months.
Jim Hall, Founder and Chief Executive at Clyde Munro, said: “Being on the acquisition trail means we need to ensure our central Support Centre can provide the skills and experience needed to support our rapidly growing group of dental practices that deliver the highest levels of patient care”
“This is a significant move for us and comes at a very exciting time for Clyde Munro. It’s the launchpad to support our rapid acquisition plan that will see us add practices across the length and breadth of Scotland.
“Doubling the floor space from our previous site has given us the vital capacity to expand – with room for our growing number of staff and modern facilities for the team to enjoy as they work hard to provide our practice teams with the help and support they deserve.”
The new headquarters occupies the site of one of the group’s former practices – which has seen its patients transferred to nearby City Dental by Clyde Munro.
Patients are already benefitting from the move, with high-spec equipment and modern facilities installed throughout the practice to ensure the highest level of patient care.
Mr Hall added: “Our first priority was to ensure our patients were taken care of and that any move would be in their best interest. While the practice has moved a short distance, the feedback from patients has been brilliant.”
Merging the dental practices allowed Clyde Munro to begin planning the transformation of the Douglas Street premises, an impressive Georgian building set across two floors.
Craig Barclay, Project Manager with Clyde Munro, led the transformation and said: “Taking on a renovation of this scale presented obvious challenges – we essentially had to strip the building back to its bones and start again.
“While it wasn’t without some road bumps, the project has allowed us to put our own stamp on the site and create an office that’s custom-built to meet the demands of Clyde Munro’s continued growth.
“The end result is a modern, state-of-the-art support centre located in the heart of Glasgow’s city centre – it’s an office the whole team can be incredibly proud of.”
Clyde Munro operates an expanding network of family dentists across Scotland, employing more than 100 clinicians and treating at least 200,000 patients.
Each practice is devoted to providing the best dental care, while reflecting the needs and character of its community. The company’s goal is to be Scotland’s ‘local dentist’ and it has signalled its intention to continue acquiring more practices.
Clyde Munro’s continued success was recognised at this year’s Scottish Dental Awards, where Jane Patterson, a dentist at the group’s Torwood practice in Inverness was crowned Scotland’s Young Dentist of the Year.
