Luxury salon group Zen Lifestyle has teamed up with design and refurbishment specialists Space Solutions to help create its vision for a new beauty and cosmetic centre in Edinburgh that will rival the best designs to be found anywhere in the world.

Zen Lifestyle researched various spas and hotels across the globe to work with the design team at Space Solutions on a concept that Space Solutions Contracts Divison will turn into reality when the Hanover Street premises opens later this year.

Space Solutions will provide a full design and construction service for the extensive refurbishment of the retail unit, creating a bespoke salon space for a wide range of beauty treatments.

Extensive Refurbishment

Fiona Fowley, Director of Zen Lifestyle, said: “We are delighted with the design put forward by the team at Space Solutions and are really looking forward to seeing it all come together over the next few weeks.

“The idea behind the design has been taken from the various spas and hotels across the world which we have visited over the past few years, taking the bits of the designs that we liked and putting them all together.

“Space Solutions came very highly recommended by our property agents Chris Cuthbert Property and they haven’t disappointed so far.

“We went to Space Solutions with a very firm idea of what we wanted and they were great at guiding us throughout the design process, to come up with something that is both practical yet still very much led by the original design.

Multiple Beauty Treatments

Gary McGurk, Business Manager at Space Solutions, said Zen Lifestyle’s brief was to create an innovative yet functional working space, which would allow the team to carry out multiple beauty treatments.

He said: “We are looking forward to the challenge of developing an innovative solution that will create one of the city’s most advanced health and beauty treatment centres.

“The space we have created is lead very much by its design, which is essentially minimalist yet still offers the relaxation and sanctuary of a beauty salon and spa.”

Contemporary Design

The contemporary design will feature four treatment rooms, a nail bar and manicure station as well as a dedicated tan room.

Customers will be greeted by a luxury waiting area, which will allow them to relax and enjoy refreshments , sipping on warming mulled wine in the winter months, or chilled champagnes in the summer.

A dedicated High Definition (HD) brow bar will also be installed allowing the salon group for the first time to carry out a range of brow treatments under one roof, including tints and shaping.

The salon will also offer permanent make up treatments in their individual treatment rooms, which will also allow them to continue offering medical treatments such as Fraxel laser and Thermage skin treatments, which are popular at their Teviot Place Salon.

Zen Lifestyle currently has two salons in Edinburgh based in Bruntsfield and at Teviot Place offering over 100 health and beauty treatments for men and women, including a programme of advanced cosmetic procedures.
