Sodexo Prestige Launch a Hit with Guests

Sodexo_Prestige61After a day of writing press releases, setting up interview times and organising a photographer and videographer, the Holyrood PR Team were ready to attend the launch of Sodexo Prestige’s latest venture, Prestige Venues & Events.

After finishing a busy day at the office, we donned our suits and LBD’s and made our way to the newly refurbished Assembly Rooms in Edinburgh. After weeks of preparation from Account Executive Melissa Clark, our job on the night was to liaise with the media ensuring they all had press packs, to ensure any questions from guests were answered and live tweet throughout the evening.

But that didn’t stop us from sampling the mouth-watering selection of food and drink on offer. From a welcoming canapé reception of scallop tapioca with smoked halibut and pink grapefruit, to the four different food and drink stations showcasing the executive chef team’s innovative skills, we were in for a culinary treat.Sodexo_Prestige26

There was a charcuterie and real ale station, a hydration station stocked with the finest cocktails and a seafood bar serving up the freshest local fish. First-time oyster tasters also earned themselves a special sticker with our very own Director, Scott Douglas, wearing his sticker with pride.

The third station featured an edible garden, bringing fresh food straight from the field to your fork with the Royal Botanic Gardens Edinburgh head chef, Ben Harrison on hand to talk guests through the variety of dishes served, sourced straight from the garden. Our favourite of the night however was the fine dining experience where guests’ taste buds were tricked when it was revealed that the “sweet treats” we are scoffing on were in fact savoury delights including foie gras profiteroles, beetroot macaroons and parmesan mille feuille.

Following the success of the evening, we told the story of the new service securing coverage across a variety of publications including; Scotland Food and Drink, Times Business, My Venues, Conference News Online, Business Quarterly Online and Edinburgh Now.

Melissa also organised an interview between Sodexo Prestige’s Managing Director Chris John and the Scotland on Sunday Business editor which led to a page lead in the Sunday national that weekend.
