A picture paints a thousand words and our care PR experts nailed the shot
WITH THE media packed with International Women’s Day content, social care PR experts at Holyrood PR knew anything we used from Edinburgh’s finest care homes had to stand out. We went on to secure the perfect shot which resulted in capturing regional interest.
After receiving a picture of Dorothy McDermott, a resident at Cramond Residence, on the morning of International Women’s Day, we knew even though we didn’t have a media release prepared that the photography had to be shared.
The Care PR team set out pitching the image to photo desks and almost immediately we generated interested from Edinburgh Live who loved the picture and were keen to do a bigger feature on Dorothy and her life experience.
The results from just one picture were,
- Coverage reaching 116,322 people
- Exceptional Feature in Edinburgh Live, and Twitter and Facebook
- 20 social interactions on the posts of Dorothy
To complete the feature, Edinburgh Live sent a few follow up questions for Dorothy to find out about the challenges she has overcome in her life and why International Women’s Day is important to celebrate.
This coverage showed how a powerful picture can make a story sing – even without any accompanying words!
The feature was different to normal content from Cramond Residence. Not only did it highlight the amazing living facilities and level of care at the home but also the fascinating stories and unique lives of people living there.
This coverage is valuable to Cramond Residence as it put the brand in front of their target audience of people considering to move a family member into care, as well as drumming up awareness in the local area.
Not only did the coverage provide a great win for the client, it was also a big reminder to the Holyrood PR team that you don’t always need to produce two pages of A4 to share an amazing story!
