Scottish PR agency graphic illustrates soaring success for three milestones shaping the future of independent living

AS Blackwood strives to create a blueprint for independent living, our Scottish PR agency worked up a charity PR strategy worth talking about.

In its 50th year of helping disabled and older people in Scotland to live longer, healthier, independent lives, major projects are set to roll out to celebrate the history of Blackwood and how it will contribute to shaping the future.

Our team has played an integral part of showcasing the providers efforts during a monumental year – from launching a £12.5 million project dubbed Blackwood Peoplehood that hopes to transform housing of the future in Glasgow, Buckie and Dundee to the relaunching its inspirational competition, The Blackwood Design Awards, which looks to bring tomorrow’s world to life.

The Holyrood PR team is proud to have worked with Blackwood Housing and Care for a number of years and we feel proud to share the amazing stories their work enables.

We shared the three milestones with the media achieving the following results:

50th Anniversary: over 4.3 million potential audience reach including key hits in The Daily Record an Today UK News.

Peoplehood Launch: 507,188 opportunities to see including key hits in Housing Scotland Today and Northern Scot

Blackwood Design Award Relaunch: 186,920 opportunities to see including key hits in Scottish Housing News and The Scottish Federation of Housing associations.

Creating positive PR around each milestone has helped raise awareness of the projects in relevant local authorities across Scotland – and also getting in front of hard-to-reach groups.

It has been fundamental that the messaging output was accurate, upbeat and emphasised just how vital the roll out of these projects will be to the future of independent living, while keeping the wording user friendly and relatable.

The PR has also assisted Blackwood in it mission to get volunteers to sign up to trailing its Peoplehood project – a vital element of the campaign succeeding.

The media releases are only the start of ongoing celebrations, and we look forward to playing a part in these ongoing projects for the remainder of the year.
