Facial filler, fizz, and free goodie bags as Clyde Munro launch new Glasgow clinic

Ayyu, run by Clyde Munro Dental Group is set to host a glamorous launch party in the Blythswood Square Hotel, Glasgow, on Thursday, February 13 from 6-9pm, which will be open to the public.

Among the attendees will be 2011 apprentice winner Tom Pellereau. He went on to launch innovative beauty accessories company Stylideas, which he owns 50-50 with Lord Sugar. Tom will be mingling with guests to talk about his products, which will be stocked in the clinic.

Alexandra MacNicol, Marketing Manager, said: “It’s a really exciting time for us as we continue to expand our services offered across Scotland.

“Ayyu is located in Glasgow’s city centre in the space below City Dental. The new clinic has a very different look and feel to any of our other practices, the treatment room has been designed to create a luxurious and contemporary feel with patients comfort at front of mind.”

Those attending the bash will receive 25% off any filler treatments which are booked on the night. Early guests will also be able to claim a free goodie bag.

The private clinic, in St Vincent Street, will offer a range of cosmetic, dentistry and orthodontic
treatments, including Invisalign teeth straightening, veneers, facial fillers and whitening, all led by dentists.

Alexandra added: “As the client base at our city centre clinic consistently grew bigger, the next step was to expand. More and more of our patients are coming to us for aesthetics-based treatments so it made sense to open a separate service to cater for that demand.

“On the evening, attendees can enjoy a glass of fizz to celebrate our new venture with clinicians on hand to answer any questions and discuss aesthetic treatments. Free facial aesthetics and orthodontic consultations will also be available.

“We have been developing our plans for this venture since October 2019 so we are excited to share what we have been working on and welcome in our first patients.”

Ayyu is being headed by Glasgow's Aisha Shafi, an accomplished dentist who will also provide aesthetic treatments. She will work alongside fellow dentist Manzar Iqbal.

Clyde Munro, now the biggest independent dental group in Scotland, has invested £30,000 kitting out Ayyu clinic, with Aisha being closely involved in the design to make sure both clinicians and patients enjoy the best possible experience.

Despite only being launched with just seven dental practices in 2015, Clyde Munro has grown rapidly and now treats around one in 20 dental patients across Scotland. The Glasgow-headquartered business now operates 40 practices, 17 of which were acquired during 2019.

The success of its exclusively Scottish-focused growth plan means it now has 170 dentists engaged with the group and employs 330 other staff. It treats more than 300,000 patients across Scotland.

Its ambition is to become Scotland’s “local dentist”, operating an expanding network of family dentists across Scotland, with each devoted to providing the best dental care, while reflecting the needs and character of its community, including remote and rural areas.

Most of its work is with local, NHS practices which retain the names and identities they have built over many years, while enjoying the benefits of being part of a bigger group. Clyde Munro is building a reputation for investing in patients, communities, training and in the advances of digital dentistry.
