Tech PR graphic on Skyrora space tug success post

Scottish Rocket specialist, Skyrora, were sent into media orbit by our tech PR team after revealling it had conducted successful trials of a ‘space tug’ which will play a key part in ensuring the UK becomes a world leader in tackling the issue of space junk.

Our PR team issued the story to the press and to our delight, it was picked up by the Press Association and distributed among a host of national, regional, local and specialist titles.

Overall, the team astonishingly delivered:

  • Over 199 items of coverage, over print, online and digital, reaching over 9.5 million people.
  • Extensive national coverage, including The Times, The Herald, the Mail Online and STV News.
  • Regional and local coverage covering England, Scotland and Ireland.

The results were fantastic as not only were we able to ensure Skyrora’s key messages were included in coverage both north and south of the border, we were also able to showcase a major milestone in the UK space race.

The timing of our release coincided with a vital parliamentary space debate, engaging UK politicians at a crucial time of decision making for UK space travel.

We elaborated on the trailblazing nature of the space tug and it’s potential to cement the UK as a world leader in solving the growing problem of space junk.

Skyrora will include the Orbit Transfer Vehicle as part of its 2023, Skyrora XL rocket launch. The tug is designed to clear debris, reposition satellites and remove defunct satellites from orbit.
