SING IN THE SEASON FOR CHARITY

Edinburgh Children’s Hospital Charity Press releases

Crammond Primary School on Dome steps for ECHC to be shared for charity PR

LOCAL Edinburgh choirs are being encouraged to help spread the festive cheer by singing on the iconic steps at The Dome to support children in hospital this Christmas.

Edinburgh Children’s Hospital Charity (ECHC) is looking for choirs, bands and singers of all ages to apply to join them and get into the yuletide spirit.

The call-out for musical talent follows the success of last year’s event, where the choirs helped raise almost £2000.

Vicki Watson, Community Fundraiser at ECHC, said: “Edinburgh gets turned into a winter wonderland during Christmas and the decorations on the steps of The Dome are synonymous to this time of year for many locals.

“The chance to sing on the steps of The Dome is truly special and there is no better way to get involved with the festivities while helping to support the work of ECHC.

“After 150 years this is our last Christmas in the hospital and the last time that Santa stops here before we move to a new children’s hospital in 2018 and it is a chance for the community to help us to make this last Christmas really special.

“We help to transform children’s experiences of hospital all year round to ensure that they are a child first and patient second.  Christmas is such an important time for children and with the public’s help we can really give them a Christmas to remember.”

Performance slots are available throughout the day and evening on all Thursdays, Fridays and weekends in December.

Groups can be up to 20 adults but this may change to accommodate any instrument and participants are encouraged to have helpers on hand to collect money.

If you are interested in applying please contact the Community Team on 0131 668 4949 or email hello@echcharity.org
