Simply Phenomenal – Eagle Couriers help Owen Coyle celebrate with Irn Bru

Eagle Couriers Press releases

Irn EagleIt was a back-of-the net performance by Eagle Couriers which helped Owen Coyle and Burnley celebrate their return to Premiership football on Monday night – by delivering crates of Irn-Bru to the winning team.

Burnley won after an exciting 1-0 win against Sheffield United at Wembley, bringing them back to the top league after an absence of 33 years.

And while most footballers would celebrate the promotion, which brings with it an estimated £60million windfall, teetotaller Coyle was sticking with Scotland’s other national drink to mark the return to top-flight football after 33 years.

Eagle got the drink down in double quick time to ensure Coyle was able to celebrate with his players and staff.

Jerry Stewart, one of Eagle Couriers’ directors, said: “We were asked to deliver two crates of Irn Bru down to the stadium as quickly as possible and we were happy to do so.

“I’m sure some of it will be helping Owen and the team celebrate their victory – and all the best to them in the Premiership.”

Before the match, Coyle confirmed he’d be sticking to the soft drink if the club won.

He said: “If we win the game, I’ll have an Irn Bru. I’m sure the lads will drink enough champagne for me.”

Eagle are no strangers to playing in the Premier League of the delivery industry, being Scotland’s largest independent courier firm.

The company has been so successful recently with new business including £3 million contracts with communications giant BT and NHS Scotland that is looking for more red vans to add to the fleet – but there’s a shortage across the continent.
