Smiling with your eyes, not showing too much gum and looking at how your teeth match up were amongst the tips Dr Biju Krishnan offered readers of The Pulse magazine to help them achieve the perfect summer smile.

Dr Krishnan, who opened high-tech cosmetic dental surgery Lubiju in Edinburgh with partner Dr Lubino do Rego this year, also advised readers to push their tongue to the roof of their mouth and to practise their smile in the mirror.

He told The Pulse: “A good smile can make or break a picture. Now obviously, cosmetic dental treatments can help – teeth whitening, teeth straightening, capping crowns and so on can make a difference, but it’s also about how the person works with what they have.”
