Increased client base results in the appointment of two videographers at Holyrood PR
GROWING demand for video services has helped an Edinburgh PR and Digital agency to bolster its video team with two new full-time professional videographers.
Holyrood PR has recruited Hannah Bingham and Elisabeth Richardson in response to increased appetite within its growing client base to integrate video as key communications tool – and to allow for a concerted business push into new markets.
Based in Leith, Holyrood PR was the first PR agency in Scotland to recruit a full-time videographer in 2009, identifying at a very early stage the need for businesses and organisations to produce video content, in particular to support the burgeoning demand from social media.
Account Director Chris Fairbairn said: “It was a tough hiring process – as we received 55 high quality applications for the roles.
“Hannah and Elisabeth were the outstanding candidates – and them joining opens up really exciting possibilities for the agency.
“While our video operation has grown, it has done so very organically – where our focus has been making sure we can service demand primarily from our existing PR and digital clients.
“At the same time, we have worked with clients to ensure video is fully integrated within their marketing mix; allowing them seize all the opportunities offered to share and promote their great visual content on social and web channels.
“The expanded team changes what we can do – and gives us scale and scope to push on and expand the service further, delivering cost-effective high-production-value videos.
“We’re now taking on everything from business showreels, to drone time-lapses, to recipe videos – amply demonstrating the value of video as a key communications tool.”
Hannah, a University of Stirling Digital Media graduate joins from a Digital Communications role at Edinburgh University Student Association.
She said: “I was drawn to the role of Videographer at Holyrood PR as not only is it an established agency with a wide client base, but because the job would allow me to be creative and continue to learn and develop my skills.
“Having the chance to film and create every day for different clients is especially exciting.”
A Linguistics and English Language graduate of the University of Edinburgh, Elisabeth is self-taught, working previously as a wedding videographer and as a freelancer.
She said: “We’re incredibly grateful for the variety of clients we have and all the different opportunities they provide us with to be creative.
Day to day we could be editing drone shot panoramas or documenting heartfelt stories. From discussing new concepts with a client, to capturing the hustle and bustle of local restaurants, we never know where we’re going to end up, and that’s how we like it.”
Holyrood PR’s video operation has enjoyed consistent growth as social media, technology and website developments have increased significantly the need for video content, with regular work from the likes of CALA Homes, Mackie’s of Scotland and Scottish Water.
Along with a fully CAA-licensed drone operation and continuous investment in top-spec equipment, the range and scope of the videos created has also improved significantly.
Effective use of video also contributed significantly to the agency’s six nominations for the upcoming CIPR PRide Awards (Scotland), held in early October.
