Scottish PR Agency Photography features Emma Reekie, account executive at Holyrood PR

1.What is your background?

I grew up in Glasgow but made the move to Edinburgh in 2015 to study Public Relations, Marketing and Events at Queen Margaret University. I graduated in 2019 and began a career in Events Management.

2. What do you like to do in your spare time?

I love all things outdoorsy! You can usually find me planning my next travelling adventure, hike or open water swim. I also love spending time with friends and finding the next best boozy brunch spot.

3. What hobby would you love to get into?

I would love to learn a language and be able to speak it fluently. I started learning a bit of French in school but have forgotten most of it!

4. What do you enjoy about PR?

I have always been a keen communicator. After working in Events, I thought it would be a good challenge to explore another area in which I can develop my communication skills even further.

I also love to write so I am looking forward to getting stuck into some interesting stories.

5. What is your favourite thing about working at Holyrood PR so far?

The diverse nature of the clients has to be up there.

The team has also been really supportive during my first week which has helped me find my way.

6. What is one professional skill you are currently working on?

I have been dabbling in photoshop. I really enjoy taking photographs (not being in them though!) so I find it really interesting to find the best angles and then make them look that bit better through the editing process.

7. What is your guilty pleasure?

I love a good bit of cheesy reality TV, whether it’s Love Island, Love is Blind, or anything with the word ‘Love’ in it really.

8. What is your favourite type of food?

Anything Italian – you can’t beat a pasta or pizza.

9. Are you a morning or night person?

I have always been a morning person, but recently I have been slowly transitioning into a night owl over the last few months, which is a habit I need to kick!

10. If you could have any super power what would it be and why?

Definitely to be able to fly – I couldn’t imagine anything better. I could fly to a sunny holiday destination every weekend without ever needing to pay for a flight!
