Two-tonne Ukraine shipment by children’s charity secures primetime TV slot thanks to Scottish PR agency
When children’s charity KidsOR shipped two-tonnes of donations destined for Poland’s mobile clinics helping those escaping the ongoing conflict in Ukraine, Scottish PR agency Holyrood PR were keen to share the story.
Eight pallets worth of medical supplies, clothing, blankets, footwear, and other items were shipped from KidsOR’s global logistics centre in Dundee, to Krakow, Poland to help medics at mobile clinics in Poland care for the large influx of refugees.
The story secured impressive results including:
- 127,043 opportunities to see online, in broadcast and on TV
- Features across Scotland in regional and local publications
- Radio feature on Tay FM
- Primetime TV feature on STV news at 6
Our team spoke with Dave Tipping, Director of Global Operations at KidsOR to gain more insight in to how the shipment was pulled together, what it contains, and the vital impact these items will have on those most effected by the conflict.
We drafted a press release and pitched it to the media, securing an impressive radio feature on Tay FM and amplified this reach further with a key television feature on STV news at 6 Dundee.
In addition, the story received further coverage in regional and local publications across the country such as North Edinburgh News, further expanding the charity’s reach.
This coverage is incredibly valuable to KidsOR as it highlights its commitment to international aid and global health equality. Furthermore, the regionalised coverage helps raise the profile of the charity within Scotland, spreading awareness to its missions and encouraging the public to get involved.
