Arch rival The Express sells 55,000 copies a day in Scotland and gave the story a full page show, also including a number of pictures.

Hebridean hideaway with a historic role earns PR success for Bell Ingram

An uninhabited island which was once a refuge for the fugitive Bonnie Prince Charlie has earned major headlines after being put up for sale.

The Young Pretender hid out on the isle of Wiay after his Jacobite uprising was crushed at the Battle of Culloden.

Now the English owners of the island are selling it through respected land and property agency, Bell Ingram.

Spotting the historic importance of the location, Bell Ingram asked Holyrood PR to help tell the story to the media.

That resulted in a major item of coverage in Scotland’s biggest selling Sunday broadsheet, Scotland on Sunday.

Mark Mitchell, head of selling agents Bell Ingram, was extensively quoted in the article, which also delved deep in to the important period of Scottish history.
