Scots Get Creative in Dodging New Year Rent Bills.

G1 Property Group Press releases

G1 property achieves great PR Scotland in national press after their research into Scots excuses to dodge paying rent in January.

Glasgow based letting agents G1 Property have released their top reasons Scottish tenants have used to try and avoid paying rent in January.

In their recent study up and coming holiday plans has topped the poll, with the cliché saying ‘the cheque is in the post’ coming a close second.

Other top reasons outlined in the poll include credit card fraud, family emergencies, saving for college and bank accounts being closed.

G1 Property’s managing director Dylan Short commented in the article: “We’ve had some obscure reasons from clients why they can’t make the rent in January.

“A lot of people overspend during the festive season with Christmas presents, nights out and even food and drink for the big day.”

He added: “The most popular excuse is that residents are going on holiday but we’ve heard that they have their wedding dress to pay for- and even that their vets bill needs paying.

“It seems Scots are coming up with a lot of creative ways to let January’s rent slide. Thankfully most come to their senses and end up paying the rent on time.”

G1 Property is currently one of the fastest growing letting agents in the country and offers a range of properties across the Glasgow area.
