Switching Pitches and Balls for Hospitals and Gifts, Edinburgh’s Sports Teams Help Children in Hospital get in the Yuletide Spirit
WHEN the top teams in Edinburgh dropped by the Royal Hospital for Sick Children (RHSC) we were on hand to share the story.
Alongside the Edinburgh Rugby team, Edinburgh’s two premier football clubs put their rivalries on the pitch to one side, to help support the work of the Edinburgh Children’s Hospital Charity (ECHC).
We got on the pitch to share this story far and wide. We scored more than once and the story gained an impressive 1,497,302 opportunities to see.
Coverage highlights included:
- National coverage on STV News at Six
- Hits in some of the Scotland’s most widely read national titles including The Scotsman, Daily Mail, The Sun and Daily Record
- Key regional coverage with the Edinburgh Evening News sharing the stories in print and online
Edinburgh Rugby ensured everyone could get in on helping spread the festive cheer and collected gifts to donate during their game against Krasny Yar at BT Murrayfield before their visit.
All the visits was arranged by Edinburgh Children’s Hospital Charity, which supports the RHSC and during December campaigned to make Christmas extra special before it moves to the new state-of-the-art building in 2018.
