Skilful Tech PR Spreads Warning from Ethical Hacker
ONLINE safety is a concern for all of us as the world becomes increasingly interconnected. Therefore, when a cyber security industry expert at the Scottish Business Resilience Centre (SBRC) speaks up, we are keen to share their message far and wide.
Their Chief Ethical Hacker, Gerry Grant, warns of the risks associated with the Snapchat ‘Live Maps’ feature, that can publish your exact location to everyone on your friend list when opted in.
Every time a Snap Map user opens Snapchat on their phone, their location on the map is updated. This poses safety issues which could be acted on by a range of criminals, from potential burglars through to paedophiles and stalkers.
