IMG_0161_edited-1Provista UK has become the first independent Scottish business to be represented at the Cisco Partner Summit – held this year in San Diego, California.

The global gathering of the NASDAQ listed tech giant is held to showcase the next evolution of the IT industry and to keep partners around the world up to date with its latest strategy and innovations.

The summit was attended by Barry Oliver, co-founder and Director of the Hamilton headquartered business, which currently holds the title of Cisco Scotland Partner of the Year.

Following recent takeovers, Cisco has emerged as the world’s biggest provider of security software – and a key topic was the growth of worldwide cyber crime and the measures required to tackle the issue fast becoming the biggest business menace.

Speaking on arrival back in Scotland, Barry said: “To be able to attend the principle gathering of an elite set of partners from across the globe is demonstration of the progress we have made over the last 10 years.

“The event made it very clear that IT Security should no longer be considered an outright cost, as an attack could have far reaching consequences and even threaten the future of a business.

“Being able to attend highlights our recent growth in stature. We’re committed as a Cisco Partner business to match the biggest industry names in terms of products, with faster, personal, proactive service that is proving very effective.

The 10 year old firm can boast blue chip customer base which rely on its expertise in areas such as Cloud, Security, Data Centre, Network and Collaboration technologies.

Barry added: “Although the weather isn’t quite the same, it is good to be back in Scotland so we can continue to provide our customers with solutions that impact positively on their businesses.

“The issue of cyber attacks can seem daunting but the innovations emerging are practical – and combined with good practice will help Scotland’s businesses stay safer.”

As well as having some of the most experienced and highly skilled consultants and engineers in Scotland, Provista continues to invest profits, creating high quality careers and training from within.
