Ringing in the Changes for Scotland’s Most Outstanding Small PR Agency

Holyrood PR Press releases

Public Relations Scotland, Holyrood PR Kenny Murray Digital Account ExecutiveAn ambitious media consultancy has bolstered its team with a series of key appointments, just weeks after being named Scotland’s Most Outstanding Small PR Agency.

Holyrood PR in Edinburgh has made two new additions to its line up while a series of internal promotions have also helped strengthen the staff profile.

Experienced consumer PR expert Ainsley Piggott has joined the public relations agency as an Account Manager and will be working on clients as diverse as luxury housebuilder CALA Homes and Musselburgh Racecourse. She previously spent two years with UK-wide agency, Havas.

Meanwhile Kenny Murray has been appointed to lead Holyrood PR’s burgeoning digital services, including working with videographer Craig Sinclair across the entire client portfolio.

Junior Account Manager AinsleyKenny joins from a global PR agency Weber Shandwick where he spent two years on the digital side of the business.

Scott Douglas, one of the directors and co-founders of Holyrood PR, says the agency’s growing reputation – three years of consistent industry award success and impressive client wins – has been crucial in attracting and retaining talent.

He said: “There is no doubt that consistent and repeat awards success has helped underline that this is the kind of agency where people really want to work.

“These are fast moving times in the media world and we are constantly evolving by challenging ourselves to find new and effective ways to boost the profile of our clients. We have consistently been ahead of the pack in adopting new services like social media, digital content and video.

“But it’s not all about the shiny new things. Our success is very much rooted in traditional skills and standards.

“The fact is that the basics of quality storytelling have not changed and we believe that helping business to tell their stories effectively helps boost their profits and motivate their people.”

The Holyrood PR team has been further strengthened by some internal moves. Chris Fairbairn’s efforts have been rewarded with a promotion to Account Manager, working on major clients including Banks Renewables, Thames Water Commercial Services and Eagle Couriers.

The ten strong team based in Leith has been enjoying a great run of form recently winning a number of high profile clients, including Musselburgh Racecourse and PR projects, including the relaunch of Tigerlily in Edinburgh, the launch of G1’s Cotton Club Casino in Glasgow and the City of Perth Winter Festival.

Another change will see Account Director, Brian Lewis leave the firm at the end of the year having landed a job in the sun with Abu Dhabi based agency, Seven Media.

Chris Fairbairn (1)Brian said: “I’ve known the Holyrood PR directors, Raymond and Scott, for years and it was great working with them again. At 37 I feel a bit of a veteran but there’s always stuff you can learn from both of them and it’s great to see their business going from strength to strength.

“I’m totally biased but I truly believe that Holyrood PR offers its clients the best value service available in Scotland. The culture is to be utterly relentless in the pursuit of the story, which in turn has the most impact for clients. It’s fantastic to see this being reflected by the awards, clients and talent Holyrood PR has been landing.

“Sadly they can’t do anything about the Scottish weather though so I’m now really looking forward to a new lifestyle and what looks like an extremely challenging role in Abu Dhabi.”

Holyrood PR has enjoyed a rich vein of success in the annual Scottish Pride Awards run by the Chartered Institute of Public Relations, claiming three awards in 2013, five in 2014 and three in 2015.

The culmination was in October when Holyrood PR was named Scotland’s Most Outstanding Small Consultancy, while also claiming the Young Communicator of the Year title, an unprecedented third time the agency’s staff have won the accolade in a decade.
